- Tenere 700 adventure bike teased
- Retains the World Prototype body work
- Likely to be unveiled at 2018 Intermot
Yamaha has joined the teasing bandwagaon. The company has just released a teaser video of its upcoming Tenere 700.
Unveiled as the T7 concept bike in 2016 EICMA, it later got rebranded to Tenere 700 at the 2017 EICMA. Last year, the Japanese maker had unveiled the Tenere 700 World Raid prototype. And now, in the latest teaser video feature Nick Sanders, Yamaha has finally revealed the production model in glimpses.
In the video, Nick Sanders is seen riding the motorcycle with panniers and top box, exploring some part of Europe. It’s clear from the video that the overall styling and the motorcycle dimensions resemble the World Raid prototype model.
Powering this motorcycle is a 689cc parallel-twin motor. It is the same motor that is seen in the MT-07 and the Tracer 700. This mill churns out 75bhp and 67Nm of peak torque. This adventure bike is likely yo get a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel. As per a few spy pictures, both the wheels are shod with Pirelli Scorpion MT90 tyres, which is an off- road focused dual-sport tyre. This setup combine with a long travel suspension is bound to help the bike cover some broken roads with ease.
The Tenere 700 will compete with the Triumph Tiger, the KTM 790 Adventure. Unfortunately, this Yamaha adventure bike won’t make it to India soon.
