- Tenere 700 Raid unveiled
- Hardcore variant of the current model
- Gets new suspension, engine upgrades
Yamaha has unveiled a more hardcore version of the Tenere 700 at the 2021 EICMA. This bike is called the Tenere 700 Raid and it’s a prototype for now.
The Tenere 700 has become one of the finest middleweight adventure bikes in the market, thanks to its no non-sense design, practicality and lack of electronics. But it looks like the Japanese brand wanted to offer something more to its customers and that’s how the Tenere 700 Raid was born.
This more hardcore ADV gets a new suspension system. The Kayaba units are adjustable and has also increased the suspension travel by a decent margin. The forks and the shocks are now housed in custom made yokes.
In terms of performance, the Tenere 700 Raid gets new airbox and filter. The radiator is now bigger and also gets an oil cooler. There’s the custom ECU and full titanium Akrapovic exhaust present to churn out maximum performance. Yamaha has equipped with bike with two fuel tanks – front and rear, carbon fibre bash plate, rally seat and screen.
Yamaha is likely to first debut this bike in some rallies in 2022. We can expect a road-going version later next year and unfortunately, this model isn’t going to come to India.
