- 2024 Yamaha Tenere 700 Explore unveiled
- Gets a 15mm lower seat height with retuned suspension
- Could be launched in India
Yamaha has taken the wraps off the 2024 Tenere 700 Explore at the EICMA 2023. The motorcycle serves as a more accessible and touring-focused alternative to the standard Tenere 700.
The biggest difference to the Tenere 700 Explore is the lower seat height which would attract a wider range of riders. So, it sports an 860mm seat height instead of the 875mm on the standard Tenere 700. This is enabled through the revised suspension setup. The 43mm KYB forks offer 190mm of travel- 20mm less than the standard model. The KYB shock at the rear comes with an increased spring rate and remote adjuster that is also 20mm less and stands at 180mm.
Moreover, the Tenere 700 Explore comes with a taller and wider windscreen and a quickshifter as standard. It comes with a five-inch TFT display as well as paneer mounts. Then there is full-LED lighting, a USB socket and a 16-litre fuel tank as well.
Other than this, the Yamaha Tenere 700 Explore continues with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combo and uses a steel tube double cradle frame. Meanwhile, powering the 689cc, parallel-twin CP2 engine that churns 72bhp and 68Nm. Braking hardware consists of twin 282mm discs at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear.
Now, the Tenere 700 Explore will be available in European markets by the end of the year. However, with the added equipment and lower seat height, it does seem like an interesting proposition for India. We expect Yamaha to launch the Tenere 700 in the country sometime next year, although there is no word about the Explore version making its way here.
