- Gets a larger fuel tank for improved range
- Features fully-adjustable suspension setup
- Available in two colours
Yamaha has unveiled an extreme version of its middleweight adventure tourer motorcycle, the Tenere 700. This new variant of the motorcycle, christened as the Tenere 700 World Raid edition, gets several mechanical and feature updates over the standard model.
For starters, the World Raid edition features low-slung dual fuel tanks that boast seven litres higher fuel carrying capacity than the standard Tenere 700. The updated fuel tank, with a 23-litre capacity, features dual filler caps. The company claims a range of over 500km between refueling. This new version also gets larger foot pegs, a more protective skid plate, a new radiator grille, improved wind protection, and a newly designed air cleaner box. The split-style saddle features a flat design. Furthermore, the updated feature list comprises a new colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
The suspension setup, too, has been updated and the World Raid edition packs longer travel than the standard model. The shock absorption tasks are handled by 43mm KYB front forks and an aluminum piggyback rear shock – both fully adjustable. An Ohlins adjustable steering damper is also part of the package. The braking setup retains the 282mm dual rotors and a 245mm single disc from the standard model, however, the ABS tech features three levels of intervention on the World Raid edition.
The mechanical specifications retain the 689cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 72.4bhp at 9,000rpm and 68Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Yamaha will offer the Tenere 700 World Raid edition in two colours – Icon Blue and Midnight Black.
