- Tenere 300 could happen
- Likely to get MT-03 engine
- Styling from Tenere 700
Yamaha recently entered the middleweight adventure motorcycle segment with the Tenere 700. This bike was known for its no non-sense engineering approach and rugged styling. But it now looks like, Yamaha could do this once again but with a smaller motorcycle.
According to a report, Yamaha could develop a smaller 300cc adventure motorcycle if there’s a demand for such motorcycles from its Yamaha fans. This ADV could get its motor from the MT-03 and will borrow styling from the Tenere 700.
Yamaha believes there’s a market for a small ADV but would want to first check with its brand loyalists first. It is no secret that BMW and KTM have managed to crack this segment with the G310GS and the 390 Adventure respectively.
The India connection worked for both the brands as these bikes are made in India and exported to rest of the world. Yamaha doesn’t have such plans on paper as of now. It does have two manufacturing plants in India, but manufactures only scooters and some motorcycles. The FZ25 range is the most expensive bike it produces in India.
