Yamaha is going to update the FZ-S version 2.0 with four new paint schemes. This is clearly a step taken to boost the 150cc streetfighter’s sales during the forthcoming festive season.
The updated FZ-S Version 2.0 will soon be available in four trendy paint schemes - black metallic X, dark bluish grey metallic, matt grey metallic and bluish white cocktail. Motorcycles with these new paint schemes are expected to be around Rs 1,000 more expensive than the regular models.
Mechanically, the new model is identical to the standard bike. Built around a diamond frame, the FZ-S Version 2.0 is powered by a 149cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, with BlueCore technology. This engine puts out 13bhp and 13Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed transmission. Though the carburetted FZ-S is more powerful and quicker than the Version 2.0, the fuel-injected bike has been tuned to extract better fuel efficiency.
We expect Yamaha to officially announce the prices of this updated model in the next few days. The Yamaha FZ-S Version 2.0 competes with the Suzuki Gixxer and the Honda CB Unicorn 160.
