There’s a new sports tourer in the market – the new Yamaha Tracer 700. Unveiled just a day ago, the Tracer 700 is based on the naked MT-07 and will sit below the MT-09 Tracer. While the Indian market might not see this tourer anytime soon, we bring you a detailed photo gallery of the Tracer 700 that’ll be a treat to the eyes.
Design wise, the Tracer 700 resembles the bigger MT-09 Tracer, but looks more dynamic, thanks to a dual headlight cowl that houses LED position lights.
The bike is equipped with adjustable windscreen to protect the body from heavy cross winds. The aerodynamic front cowl also cuts a lot of wind.
The Tracer 700 uses a compact steel backbone-type chassis that uses the crossplane engine as a stressed member.
The 689cc parallel-twin engine produces 74bhp at 9000rpm and peak torque of 68Nm at 6500rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox
Front turn indicators are integrated into the knuckle guards. The multifunction LCD digital instrument cluster displays a wide range of ride data.
The swingarm is now longer by 50mm, taking the wheelbase to 1450mm. Suspension settings has been played with to suit the sports tourer nature.
The subframe has been strengthened to take care of the extra baggage. 20-litre soft side cases and a 39-litre top case has been developed by Yamaha for the Tracer 700.
With a fuel tank capacity of 17-litres, the rider can ride close to 340kms before stopping for fuel. The kerb weight of 196kg also helps in delivering more fuel efficiency.
The Yamaha Tracer 700 is available in three colours – radical red, tech black and Yamaha blue.
