- Limited to just 25 units
- Gets a carbon-fibre sub-frame, Magneti Marelli ECU, and more
- All 25 bikes have been sold out
In a bid to commemorate its 25-year anniversary, Yamaha has unveiled the R1 GYTR Pro 25th Anniversary Limited Edition in the European market. Compared to the standard model, this special edition model gets a host of mechanical and cosmetic tweaks and is also limited to just 25 models worldwide.
The list of upgrades on this model includes Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing (GYTR) Pro parts like a carbon-fibre sub-frame as well as Magneti Marelli ECU. Overall, the engineers have also attempted to keep the R1 GYTR’s centre of gravity low. It rides on Ohlins FGR USD forks and a TTX monoshock with a preload adjuster. The 25th Anniversary model also borrows the swingarm directly from the Yamaha WSBK race bike. Its braking hardware, too, is top-notch and comprises a Brembo setup at both ends. Even the 998cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is the same as the one on Yamaha’s racing motorcycle.
Yamaha Motor Research and Development Europe has also included a GYTR Pro Electronic System module (GPES). It monitors the wheelie control, launch control, engine braking management, and traction control. Not to mention, there’s also the full Akrapovic exhaust system.
Yamaha will build all 25 units as per their respective buyer’s requirements. And these have already been sold out in Europe. The asking price for the Yamaha R1 GYTR Pro 25th Anniversary Limited Edition is set at EUR 1,59,000. This converts to an astronomical Rs. 1.44 crore, excluding taxes.
