- New Aerox Alpha scooter unveiled
- Gets features, aesthetic upgrades
- Launched in Indonesia
Yamaha has taken the wraps off a new version of the famous Aerox scooter. This variant is called the Aerox Alpha which gets a host of new features and styling upgrades.
Aesthetically, the new Aerox gets a revamped front and rear. It now wears sharper body panels and gets dual LED projector lights. The turn signals have been integrated as well. At the rear, there’s a new LED taillight along with LED indicators.
The Japanese brand has updated the feature list of the scooter quite heavily. It now gets a full colour TFT screen that shows a host of ride information. It gets Bluetooth integration and can be connected to the system through a smartphone app which supports turn-by-turn navigation. This Aerox also gets multiple riding modes and traction control system.
The Aerox Alpha churns out the same 15bhp at 8000rpm of peak power from a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. The torque figure is the same at 14Nm at 8000rpm. Interestingly, the CVT has been updated with a new tech that allows the rider to switch between riding and acceleration modes.
This new Aerox Alpha is currently sold in the Indonesian market but it could come to India sometime next year. If it does, expect the Aerox Alpha to be the most expensive Aerox version in the line-up.
