Yamaha unveils the Motobot at Tokyo Motor Show

Yamaha has unveiled a mind blowing technology at the ongoing 2015 Tokyo Motor Show – the Motobot. This new project is aimed at building an autonomous motorcycle riding robot that could eventually beat Rossi around a race track. Just kidding. 

This Motobot project is expected to help Yamaha in developing next-generation rider safety technology. In fact, the Japanese manufacturer has released a promotional video on the Motobot project which talks about why they plan to make this a successful project. As seen in the video, the Motobot is capable of riding, making directional changes and even braking. However, performing these functions in the real world still looks like a distant dream. But nevertheless, we appreciate the Japanese engineers for taking this step and we would love to see something like this in person.  We won’t be surprised if the other Japanese rivals showcase something like this in the upcoming months.
