Yamaha has unveiled a new addition to its sport heritage motorcycle range - the XV950 Racer. The XV950 Racer has been inspired by German designer Marcus Walz’ El Raton Asesino custome motorcycle and is expected to go sale in May, this year.
The XV950 Racer is based on the tubular steel double cradle frame from the Virago family of cruisers and uses a 942cc air-cooled V-twin engine. This engine delivers a modest 51.4bhp and 79.5Nm of torque through a five-speed constant mesh gearbox.
The bike’s short wheelbase coupled with the sporty riding position gives the XV950 Racer a retro look. It also comes with aluminium clip-on handlebars, rearset footpegs, an old-school headlamp cowl, round LCD instrument console and 12 spoke cast alloy wheels.
Yamaha will also offer an extensive list of optional equipment like an Akraprovic exhaust system, a sports air filter, custom levers and other cosmetic upgrades. The XV950 Racer will be available in two paint schemes - glacier blue and matt grey.
