India Yamaha Motors has updated its entire scooter range with unified braking system (UBS) which is just another term for CBS. Along with this system, the Japanese maker has also equipped its scooters with maintenance free batteries.
Owing to this update, the company has increased the prices of all its scooters by a few hundreds and even thousands in some cases. The Fascino now retails at Rs 55,193, whereas the Cygnus Ray ZR Street Rally is the most expensive in the line-up with a price tag of Rs 58,698. The Cygnus Ray Z is the most affordable at Rs 51,417, followed by Cygnus Alpha Drum brake at Rs 52,272. Then there’s the Cygnus Alpha Disc brake at Rs 55,730, followed by the Cygnus Ray Drum brake at Rs 54,051. The last two variants, the Ray ZR disc brake and the darknight versions are priced at Rs 56,698 and Rs 57,698, respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Yamaha recently launched the FZ V3.0 and will soon launch the MT-15. The company has shifted its focus from mass market bikes to premium bikes. But like other manufacturers, Yamaha will continue to focus on scooters.
