The USA arm of Yamaha has recalled the YZF-R3 for two issues. First issue deals with the oil pump, whereas the second one with the bike’s clutch.
As per Yamaha, the R3’s oil pump might not be regulating oil pressure correctly, which might seize this 300cc engine from lack of oil. A total of 11,280 models of the YZF-R3 is affected by this issue. The second recalls is to deal with the bike’s clutch. The clutch pressure plate bearing might break due to the insufficient load rating. This may cause the clutch not to disengage, which will eventually prevent the gearbox from shifting properly.
The affected owners will be contacted by Yamaha dealers who will replace the parts free.
