Yamaha recently launched the Aerox 155’s sibling, the X-Force in Japan. It packs a fair amount of mechanical bits and tech similar to its maxi-scooter counterpart. Let’s have a closer look at it.
Similar to the Aerox, the X-Force too gets a very aggressive fascia. The split LED headlight gives the X-Force a very youthful appearance but it doesn’t get a handlebar cowl, which leaves the said area a tad uncomplete.
Unlike the Aerox 155’s central spine, the X-Force gets a flat footboard which aids in storage. It also gets a comparatively flatter seat which should provide a tad more room for the rider and pillion to move around.
The X-Force draws power from a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled VVA motor. It’s tuned to dish out 14.7 bhp and 14Nm, the same as Aerox.
On the feature front, the X-Force gets an LCD with Bluetooth connectivity. It allows the rider to pair his/her smartphone to the console and access call/SMS notifications as well as the riding performance.
Furthermore, it also gets traction control, a USB port, and cubby storage on the front apron.
The engine is clung to an underbone frame suspended on conventional telescopic front forks and dual rear springs. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Yamaha has equipped the X-Force with 13-inch alloys wrapped in 120/70 front and 130/70 rear tyres. It tips the scale at 130kg and gets a fuel tank capacity of 6.1-litre.
The X-Force is offered in four different colours: Matte Green, Matte Blue, White, and Black.
In Japan, the Yamaha X-Force retails at JPY 3,96,000 (approximately Rs 2.30 lakh excluding taxes). And it’s unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon.
