-India launch being considered
-Based on the MT-15 platform
The Yamaha XSR 155 is likely to be one of the star attractions at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The modern-retro motorcycle is one of the most talked about in the country and Yamaha is evaluating its launch in India. The Expo should serve as a great platform to gauge customer interest and Yamaha is expected to showcase the XSR 155 in multiple colour options.
The XSR 155 makes a lot of sense for Yamaha India as it is based on the MT-15 platform which is already being made here. That should help keep costs and ultimately price in check while allowing Yamaha to enter the modern-retro motorcycle space in India.
The styling of the Yamaha XSR 155 is simple yet attractive and is one of its biggest draws. From the round headlight to the teardrop shaped fuel tank, exposed deltabox frame and short fenders, the XSR 155 looks the part.
Adding the modern element to the bike is the liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is known for its performance as well as efficiency. The frame is suspended by a USD fork and monoshock, while braking is taken care of by a disc brake at the front and rear wheel.
If and when Yamaha launches the XSR 155 in India it will go up against the TVS Ronin.
