The most successful bike from Yamaha in the Indian market, the YZF R15, will enter Indonesia soon. Yamaha Indonesia has teased the fans and enthusiasts with a website which says 'We R Different' and 'Coming Soon', suggesting that the bike will be launched in the country soon.
Yamaha has used this strategy before when they launched the Vixion in Indonesia. Back then, they used the 'Ride the Lightning' tag line. The manufacturer will soon launch the fully faired 150cc motorcycle, YZF R15, there.
The Yamaha YZF R15 boasts of front telescopic forks and a rear mono shock suspension. Now the facelifted model, termed as the Version 2.0, is on sale which has all the same features with a few cosmetic tweaks. The R15 was one of the first bikes to offer a rear disc brake when it was launched in India. The bike gets a dual piston 267mm front disc brake and a dual piston 220mm rear disc brake.
The Yamaha R15 is powered by a 149.8cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 17bhp of power and 15Nm of torque. The engine transmits power to the rear wheel through the six-speed gearbox and a chain drive.
The Yamaha R15 was launched in India in 2008. The Japanese manufacturer’s premium 150cc sports bike based on the Vixion borrows design traits from the larger sibling, the R1. The motorcycle was facelifted in 2011, naming it as YZF R15 V 2.0, and is on sale in India currently. The bike enjoys a good demand in our country for its sporty looks and good performance. The Indonesians should also find it interesting when the R15 is launched there soon.
