- New colours include racing blue, racing black and racing yellow
- Also gets refreshed graphics
- Could be introduced in India
Yamaha has introduced three new colour options for its fully-faired motorcycle, the YZF R15 V3, in Indonesia. The new set of colours include racing blue, racing black and racing yellow which are now also adorned with refreshed graphics. In Indonesia, the motorcycle has been priced at IDR 35,760,000 which is approximately Rs 1.75 lakhs.
Of the three new colours, the racing blue variant is available in India as well. However, instead of the blue coloured fairing that is offered with the Indian trim, the Indonesian bike gets a black fairing with a suffix ‘R’ imprinted in blue shade. Meanwhile, the racing black and racing yellow colour schemes are not yet available in India.
The Yamaha YZF R15 V3 is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill which churns out 18.7bhp at 10,000rpm and 15Nm at 8,500rpm. This unit features VVA (variable valve actuation) technology and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox assisted by a slipper clutch. On the feature front, the R15 integrates all-LED lights and an LCD instrument cluster which displays ample of information.
Coming to the cycle parts, the Indonesia-spec motorcycle is equipped with upside down forks on the front as opposed to the telescopic units on the India-spec model. The rear monoshock remains the same in both models. It rides on 17-inch wheels which get stopping power from a 282mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. With a fuel tank of 11-litres, the R15 carries a kerb weight of a mere 139 kg.
Although there’s no official confirmation yet, we expect these new colours to arrive in India sooner or later. The YZF R15 V3 goes up against the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the soon-to-be-launched KTM RC 125 in India.
