The YZF R15 V3 from Yamaha had been recently introduced in Indonesian market. First launched in 2008, the motorcycle last received an upgrade in 2011. This time around, the upcoming motorcycle will be the third-generation model which gets changes in the bodywork as well as mechanical upgrades. Although, the company has not revealed the official dates for its launch, we believe that it might be in the second half of 2017.
The new YZF R15 V3 will be powered by a 155 cc liquid cooled SOHC single-cylinder engine that generates 19bhp of power and 14.7Nm of peak torque. The fairly powerful engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission. Speaking of features, the new motorcycle will get VVA technology, hazard lamp, assist and slipper clutch, and wider tyres.
On the design aspect, the bike will get a more aggressive stance with new sleek headlamps and tail lamps, upside down front forks, LED turn winkers and new alloy wheels. The upcoming bike is also expected to get a full LCD panelmeter with shift indicator. Although, the pricing aspect is unknown for now, it is anticipated that the bike might be priced at around ₹ 1.6 lakh. Post launch, it is expected to go up against the likes of Honda CBR 150R and KTM RC200 in the country.
