The motorcycle returned an impressive fuel economy of 51.4kmpl during the comprehensive road test review. With its 11-litre fuel-carrying capacity, the YZF-R15 V4 gives a range of approximately 550km on a full tank. Do note that the engine specifications are identical for both variants of the Yamaha YZF-R15 series. The complete range is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC, four-valve, fuel-injected engine with a VVA system. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is tuned to produce a maximum output of 18.1bhp at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm. The transmission benefits from an assist and slipper clutch mechanism, while the M variant further benefits from a quick-shifter.

What are the differences between the standard and M variants of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V4?
Both variants of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 use a projector-style LED headlight with LED DRLs, an LED taillight, Bluetooth connectivity with a dedicated smartphone application, dual-channel ABS, and a traction control system. The Racing Blue colour options and the M variant get a quick-shifter as standard, while it can be added to the Metallic Red and Dark Knight paint themes as an optional extra. The M variant also gets a colour TFT display and LED turn indicators as standard.
