Yamaha has launched automatic headlamp on feature on the YZF-R15 Version 2.0 and YZF-R15 S.
With the introduction of this feature, the Yamaha YZF-R15 no longer features a headlamp on/off switch. In an attempt to make roads safer for riders, the government has passed a regulation requiring all two-wheelers to have automatic headlamp on feature as standard. While European motorcycles have had this feature for a while now, this regulation will come into force in the Indian market from April 2017.
Switching headlamps on during daytime significantly reduces the probability of an accident, as they serve as a means of alerting pedestrians and drivers. However, it seems like Indian customers aren’t very happy with his feature, which has already been implemented on a few Hero and KTM motorcycles.
