- Price increased by Rs 2,000
- Now retails at Rs 1.27 lakhs (ex-showroom)
Yamaha has hiked the price of the YZF-R15 V3.0 by Rs 2,000. The motorcycle now retails at Rs 1.27 lakhs (ex- showroom).
This is the first price hike for the R15 V3.0 since the bike was launched at the 2018 Auto Expo. The price hike seems reasonable considering that it is less than two per cent of the bike’s cost. The hike in price can be attributed to the increase in input and operational costs. The new R15 has been designed along the lines of the R6 and the R1, and features a new VVA-equipped 155cc liquid-cooled powertrain. The engine delivers 18.7bhp and 15Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission.
The R15 V3.0 is now being sold alongside the R15S, which is a single-piece seat variant of the version 2.0. Since the version 3.0 was introduced, monthly sales of the R15 have grown from around 3,000 units to more than 7,000 units. Needless to say, the new R15 has caught the attention of the audience.
