Yamaha India has introduced four new colours for the YZF-R15 Version 2.0 in a bid to refresh their flagship motorcycle. The four new colours are Raring Red, Invincible Black, Racing Blue and Grid Gold. The company affirmed that these are only cosmetic changes and there are no other changes to the mechanical bits. This is the fourth time the company has introduced new colours.

The Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 2.0 was introduced in 2011, is the facelifted version of the first variant introduced in 2008 in India. This bike gets telescopic front forks and boasts of a monocross suspension at the back. The motorcycle gets disc brakes in the front and at the back. In fact, the R15 was the first bike to offer a disc brake at the back when it was launched in India.

The motorcycle is powered by a 149.8cc single cylinder unit that produces 17bhp and 15Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and the power is delivered to the rear wheel through a chain drive.

Yamaha has refreshed the appearance of the R15 V 2.0 only in terms of colours and decals from the time it was launched. The manufacturer unveiled the bike firstly in three colours- Racing Blue, Midnight Black and Sunset Red. Later, two more colours were introduced, namely, the WGP 50th anniversary limited edition and Fiery Red special edition. The company came out with a different set of colours, a third time, last year. This included the Racing Blue, Invincible Black, Raring Red and Thundering Green. So this is the fourth time that Yamaha has brought out new colour schemes for the motorcycle without making any other major changes to the bike.

Yamaha launched the gearless scooter, the Alpha, at the recently concluded Auto Expo. They had earlier announced that they will be concentrating on the scooter market till 2016. Nevertheless, the manufacturer is doing small changes to the existing motorcycles in their portfolio. The company is all set to introduce the revamped FZ-16 to the Indian market soon. The revised bike that was spotted testing recently might be launched soon as well. Though the most anticipated 250cc Yamaha R25 might take some time to reach the Indian market but Yamaha fans and enthusiasts in the country are awaiting the launch of the bike.
