The Indonesian arm of Yamaha recently unveiled the YZF-R15 V3.0 and that got a lot of us excited. But it looks like this motorcycle won’t be launched in India immediately.
BikeWale spoke with a few Yamaha India officials at the launch of the FZ25 regarding the YZF-R15 V2.0. The officials said that they were happy with the sales performance of the YZF-R15 V2.0, especially of the YZF-R15 S version. There’s enough demand for this entry-level fully-faired motorcycle from across the country. Due to this, the company isn’t really focusing on getting the YZF-R15 V3.0 to India.
We believe that this new Yamaha will eventually make to India, but won’t be launched for the next six months at least. But with the new R15 available in the global markets, the demand for the current R15 will slowly decrease as the informed buyer will wait for the new bike. We’re expecting the Japanese manufacturer to introduce the YZF-R15 V 3.0 during the festive season this year and when it does, expect it to cost more than the FZ25, which is priced at Rs 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
