- Features new livery inspired by YZR-M1
- Will only be available for booking online
- Deliveries to commence in September
Yamaha has launched the Moto GP edition of its popular commuter bike, the YZF-R15 V3.0. Limited to just 5,000 units, the Moto GP edition is priced at Rs 1.3 lakhs (ex-showroom), which makes it Rs 3,000 pricier than the regular bike.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 Moto GP edition is painted in a blue livery, inspired by the brand’s factory Moto GP motorcycle, the YZR-M1. The bike’s fairing features branding of the team’s biggest sponsors, giving it a sport appeal. The Movistar logo is plastered across the heart of the fairing and above the headlamp, the Yamalube logo is below it and the Eneos logo is located at the bottom.
There are no mechanical changes to the bike. It is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 18.7bhp and 15Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. Apart from the Moto GP paint scheme, the R15 is available in two dual tone paint schemes – blue/black and red/grey.
The R15 Moto GP edition will be available for booking only through the bike’s official site. Deliveries will commence in September. Only 5,000 units of the YZF-R15 Moto GP edition will be built.
