Yamaha Motor India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the YZF-R15 V4.0. The latest iteration of the 155cc motorcycle is available in two variants – Standard and M. The M variant benefits from additional features over the standard model. Here we explain the similarities and differences between the new Yamaha YZF-R15 V4.0 and YZF-R15 M.
Both variants of the new YZF-R15 V4.0 feature identical styling. Thus, both motorcycles feature a single-pod headlight with twin LED DRLs at the front, an M air-duct design, full faring, step-up saddle, and a side-slung exhaust. Standard features on both variants include an LED headlight with LED DRL, an LED taillight, and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster.
The Bluetooth connectivity brings features such as call alerts, SMS and email notifications, and phone battery level on the instrument cluster. The smartphone app, on the other hand, shows data about the fuel consumption, maintenance recommendations, last parked location, malfunction notification, revs dashboard, and ranking.
Standard electronic aids include dual-channel ABS, traction control system, and side-stand engine cut-off function. The M variant and the Racing Blue colour option further benefit from a quickshifter as standard while other variants can get the feature as an optional extra.
The standard variant of the motorcycle is available in three colours – Metallic Red, Dark Knight, and Racing Blue. The M version is available in Metallic Grey and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition. The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition will be available in limited numbers.
