Yamaha has introduced three new paint schemes for the YZF-R15 Version 2.0. Apart from updating the paint schemes, Yamaha has also hiked the price of the YZF-R15 by around Rs 4,000.
The new Yamaha YZF-R15 is now available in revving blue, sparky green and adrenaline red paint schemes. While the revving blue paint scheme features Yamaha's traditional racing colours with the lettering mimicking YZF-R3's font style, the other two paint schemes are funky dual-tone liveries. Mechanically, the new YZF-R15 has remained unchanged. It continues to draw power from the 150cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine, which delivers 17bhp and 15Nm of torque.
Yamaha's strategy of refreshing the YZF-R15 with new paint schemes every once in a while seems to be working in its favour. Despite getting quite long in the tooth, the YZF-R15 Version 2.0 continues to return respectable sales number month after month. Such is the demand for the motorcycle that it enjoys a waiting period stretching from a couple of weeks to over a month is a few major cities. With the hike in its price, the YZF-R15 Version 2.0 is now more expensive than its sibling, the YZF-R15S. However, we do expect this to affect its sales in any way. These new models are now available through the company's authorised dealerships across the country.
