Yamaha has unveiled MY 2017 paint schemes for the YZF-R25 in Indonesia. Going by Yamaha’s track record, we can expect these colours to be launched in India for the YZF-R3 in the next couple of months.
While there are no mechanical changes, the new YZF-R25 gets three new paint schemes to give it a refreshed look. The white paint scheme gets black and fluorescent yellow decals, the black paint scheme gets red decals while the blue paint scheme gets silver decals. Of these, we can expect at least two paint schemes to end up on our shores. The new 2017 model is Rs 13,000 pricier than the outgoing model in Indonesia.
Yamaha's strategy of refreshing its models with new paint schemes annually has worked in its favour so far, with sales numbers witnessing a jump every time such an update is introduced. The Indian market gets a more powerful version this quarter-litre sportbike called the YZF-R3, powered by a 321cc parallel-twin engine. This model delivers 41bhp and 29Nm of torque through a six-speed gearbox. It competes with the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Hyosung GT250R and the KTM RC390.
