After months of speculating about the launch and after many spy pictures, Yamaha will be unveiling the YZF-R25 on May 20. The company has released this date through a teaser picture on the Yamaha Indonesia website. The image shows all the R series motorcycles parked inside the garage except the R25 whose only front portion is teased.
But most of us who have been waiting to see the production model have got an opportunity to see it through various spy shots taken in the last few weeks. The production model doesn’t look too much like the R25 concept. The concept looked more of a M1 MotoGP replica. The YZF-R15 misses out on the upside-down forks and sports headlights just like the YZF-R15.
The YZF-R25 is likely to get a parallel twin 250cc engine that is expected to churn out 33bhp that makes it to the Kawasaki Ninja 250R territory. Yamaha Motor India has confirmed the launch of this bike early next year which we feel is a little late. India has been waiting for this bike since the concept model was teased but a next year launch will not only sadden bike enthusiasts here but will also make them look for alternatives.
