A picture of an undisguised Yamaha YZF-R3 is doing the rounds on the web. According to the grapevine, the person who clicked this picture said that he saw this bike in some showroom in Navi Mumbai. However, the location of the spied bike is disputable.
Yamaha does not have a showroom in Navi Mumbai. The closest one is in Panvel and so the claim might not be true. We believe this picture of the YZF-R3 was clicked somewhere inside Yamaha's facility in Gurgaon The YZF-R3 was unveiled last October and is Yamaha’s answer to the Kawasaki Ninja 300. Cosmetically, this motorcycle looks very similar to the YZF-R25 that was unveiled in early 2014. It is built around the same lightweight tubular steel diamond type frame. It is powered by a 321cc, in-line twin cylinder engine which develops 40.5bhp and 29.6Nm of torque, through a six-speed gearbox.
Indian motorcycle enthusiasts have been waiting for this motorcycle to be launched in India. While the Japanese manufacturer focussed more on the scooter for the last two years, new motorcycle launches were not given the priority. We are expecting Yamaha to launch the YZF-R3 in the next few weeks, however, its success will depend on its price.
