- 2023 Yamaha Neo’s electric scooter breaks cover
- Gets a new colour scheme
- Was showcased in India last year
Yamaha has updated one of its electric scooters- the Neo’s for 2023 and introduced it in international markets.
This petite EV from Yamaha receives a new turquoise colour scheme as part of the update. However, the other bits remain untouched. The Yamaha Neo’s has a quirky modern styling complete with split-LED headlamp and LED DRLs. The rear end looks quite interesting too, with the LED tail lamp fitted on the number plate holder.
As for its powertrain and output, the Yamaha Neo’s is equivalent to a 50cc scooter. It comes with a 2.03kW motor paired with two removable lithium-ion batteries that Yamaha claims can offer 70km. Its top-speed, however, is limited to a humble 40kmph.
The average charging time for the scooter is rated at around 8 hours. And the whole package seems to be good for city runabouts only. As for its list of features, the Yamaha Neo’s gets an LCD with smartphone connectivity giving the rider access to battery status, route tracking, calls and messages as well.
With everything said, Yamaha has already showcased the Neo’s electric scooter in India to select dealers. However, instead of being introduced in India as is, we expect Yamaha to use the Neo’s as a base to offer an India specific electric scooter by the end of this year or early 2024.
