- Yamaha XSR125 custom program offered in Europe
- Includes exterior alterations
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Yamaha has commenced a customisation program for XSR 125 in Europe- specifically from France, Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
The Japanese manufacturer is calling it the ‘Free Spirits’ program which allows owners to tweak their XSR 125 using genuine accessories in collaboration with Yamaha distributors. Moreover, Yamaha is targeting ambassadors for this program who can be musicians, surfers, artists and wakeboarders as well.
Yamaha Greece came up with a surfer-specific build with a high front fender, knobby tyres, and an ‘80s Yamaha blue colour scheme. The motorcycle also features a detachable winch and mount to attach a surfboard as well. However, the drivetrain and other mechanicals will not be altered as part of the customisation program and the XSR 125 will continue with a 125cc, liquid-cooled engine with 14.8bhp and 11.5Nm of offer.
While this seems like an enticing prospect, Yamaha is unlikely to bring the XSR 125 to India anytime soon. However, if it does arrive, it would lock horns with the KTM 125 Duke here.
