Yamaha released a video yesterday on their global website that is also hosting a countdown clock ending March25. The video, countdown and the content in the video is a part of Yamaha’s new property, called Revstation.
We found this very interesting and decided to dig deep into this new development and thanks to our technical expertise; we have some new information. One of the major showcases in the video was the design sketch of a sport motorcycle which we believe is the production model of the YZF-R25. It may be called the R3, as the Japanese maker has registered this name in Europe and US. We can expect both the bikes to be launched in either 250cc or 300cc formats, depending on the market. Also seen in the video is the production model of its three-wheeled concept Tricity that was unveiled last year at the famous EICMA event. However, Yamaha may not want to carry this name to the production model and has worked on a new name, the Trika. The Trika is expected to be powered by a 125cc liquid cooled engine, mated to an automatic transmission.
Other than these two models, we have managed to get the name of the people involved in this video. At the start of the video, we see a scientist with a new scooter engine; he is Dr Troy and is responsible in empowering the rest of the characters in this short film. We think the showcased engine is expected to be the new mill that will power the Yamaha Trika. Nick is the girl who is riding the upcoming scooter and Skape is the young man who receives information at the end of the film from Dr Troy. The whole film has been shot to make it look like a sci-fi movie.
India Yamaha Motor has confirmed to launch the R25 in India next year but we won’t see the Trika anytime soon in India. We are eagerly waiting for countdown to end, which will happen only next week. Till then, stay tuned to BikeWale.
