The small-size adventure touring segment in India recently saw a new entrant – the Yezdi Adventure. Going by the mechanical specifications and features it offers, it surely is an enticing proposition. However, its pricing between Rs 2.10 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh keeps the bike in a very crowded and competitive segment. For those wondering which its similarly-priced rivals are, here’s the list.
Royal Enfield Himalayan: Rs 2.15 lakh – Rs 2.22 lakh
The list starts with its closest contender, the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The motorcycle is known for its comfort which makes it an excellent tourer. Even the overall hardware package is suitable for a decent amount of off-roading. With the long-travel suspension, a 21-17-inch spoke wheel combination, and a torquey 411cc engine, the Himalayan is suitable for taking on trails, especially for beginners.
Royal Enfield Meteor 350: Rs 2.2 lakh – Rs 2.18 lakh
The cruiser fans can also consider Royal Enfield’s Meteor 350. The motorcycle is based on the brand’s new J platform and it’s nothing like the RE’s of yesteryears. The 350cc engine is smooth, the weight balance is spot on and the comfort it offers is commendable. With the Tripper Navigation system and a USB charger, the Meteor 350 is practical as well.
Bajaj Dominar 400: Rs 2.17 lakh
If fast-paced touring is your top priority, the Bajaj Dominar 400 makes for a great choice. Besides the neutral and welcoming ergonomics, the motorcycle incorporates a 40bhp, 373cc engine which can do triple-digit speeds all day long. With the recent update, it has become even more inclined towards being a tourer with accessories like a tall windscreen, sturdy knuckle guards, and a tail rack available as standard.
KTM RC 200: Rs 2.09 lakh
If motorcycling means fast commuting, frequent trips to twisties and occasional track days for you, the KTM RC 200 should be your pick. While it’s nearly as fast and exciting as its predecessor, the ergonomics aren’t as committed as before. The 200cc offers the same punch but with much more tractability and smoothness. It also features a larger LCD instrument cluster along with a styling that catches a lot of attention.
