If you own a Yezdi or Jawa, it’s time to pack those saddlebags, gear up and head to the township of Khopoli in Maharashtra as the Yezdi Jawa Owners Club of India are organizing their annual ‘Forever Riders Meet’ on 17 January. It is the fifth edition of the meet, a 3-day event from 17th to 19th January, the venue being Campmax in Kalote. With more than 200 turn-ups last year, expect over 300 participants from among the old and new owners.
Yes, you heard that right. The riders meet is not limited to the owners of the original Yezdi and Jawa bikes but even the owners of modern Jawa motorcycles comprising of the Jawa Classic and Forty-Two can participate in it. The 3-day event will have several activities ranging from slow race, reverse engine start, carb dismantling/assembly to team participation activities like lifting the bike and treasure hunt. For those who wish to test their riding skills on their machine, there’s also a dedicated track comprising of an obstacle course. And that’s not all, the event will also have on display rare and custom modified Yezdi and Jawa bikes to ogle at. There will also be stalls for purchasing a variety of riding gear, accessories and merchandise.
Now all that is quite a lot, but still not enough, which is why the organizers have arranged for a live band performance by a campfire and karaoke along with talk sessions on road safety and basic motorcycle maintenance tips by experts.
