- Yezdi scrambler model spotted testing
- Official launch could take place on 13 January 2022
- Likely to be powered by the same engine as the Jawa Perak
Classic Legends, the brand which sells Jawa models in India, is all set to re-launch the iconic Yezdi brand on 13 January, 2022. The company might launch multiple motorcycles at this launch, one of which could be a scrambler. Although there aren’t confirmed specifications of it available yet, a camouflaged test mule of the Yezdi scrambler was spied testing on public roads recently.
The motorcycle incorporates a bunch of traits that are typical of a scrambler. These include a tallboy stance with a beak-like front fender, long travels suspension with fork gaiters at the front, chopped rear fender with a tyre hugger, and a single seat with a ribbed pattern. Other components lending it a retro appeal include a round headlamp and mirrors, spoke wheels, a peanut-shaped fuel tank, and a chrome exhaust canister.
Rumours suggest that Yezdi bikes will be powered by the same 334cc, liquid-cooled engine that does duty on the Jawa Perak. This four-valve mill produces 30bhp of power and 32.7Nm of peak torque with a six-speed gearbox. The cycle parts seem to be pretty basic with telescopic forks, dual springs, and a single disc at both ends. What features it will come equipped with is not known yet.
Classic Legends might sell Yezdi motorcycles alongside Jawa offerings since that will be beneficial for the brand and dealers in terms of cost-saving and brand recall.
