Yoshimura has launched a new range of exhaust systems for the 2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000. Called Alpha T, this range offers a louder sound track of the motorcycle while significantly boosting power output and torque spread.
The Alpha T range is available in two guises - Alpha T Street for those who want to keep their bikes road legal and Alpha T Race for those who intend to stick to the race track. Both the Alpha T Street and Alpha T Race are available in two finishes - stainless steel and titanium.
Yoshimura has stopped short of revealing the exact jump in power output or the dyno chart, though it is claiming a 'dramatic' improvement across the power and torque spectrum. A part of increase in overall performance is courtesy the lighter canisters. While the stock canister weighs 3.1kg, the steel and titanium canisters tip the scales at 2.2kg and 1.6kg respectively. Yoshimura has also launched a range accessories for the GSX-R1000 including crash protectors, bar ends and a fender eliminator kit.
For now, Suzuki's Indian portfolio doesn't include the 2017 GSX-R1000. However, with worldwide deliveries commencing last month, we expect the litre-class superbike to be launched here very soon. We can expect Yoshimura's official Indian importers - Ultimate Auto Impex to introduce the Alpha T range once the motorcycle is made available in the Indian market.
