The last week was not just about new two-wheeler launches but we also came across two interesting spy shots of upcoming products. One of these was that of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 wherein we got some new details about the bike. Another bike that was spied in the last week was from Hero MotoCorp. If you’re still unaware of these developments, here’s a quick rundown.
Hero MotoCorp introduced the 2022 edition of its sporty commuter, the Xtreme 160R, in India. The changes it has received include a revised seat design, dual grab rails, and a gear position indicator in its LCD console. The rest of the details of the motorcycle remain the same as the previous model. Available in three variants, the prices of the Xtreme 160R start from Rs 1,17,148.
Hero Super Splendor Canvas Black launch
Another new product from Hero MotoCorp is the Canvas Black edition of the Super Splendor. As the name suggests, this edition of the commuter boasts an all-black paint scheme along with the chrome ‘Super Splendor’ badge on the fuel tank. More chrome elements are visible near the headlight and on the exhaust heat shield. The motorcycle is available in two variants including drum brake and front disc brake with a price tag of Rs 77,430 and Rs 81,330.
Triumph Speed Twin 900, Scrambler 900 launch
Triumph brought in the new model of the Scrambler 900 and the Speed Twin 900, which was previously called the Street Twin. Both these motorcycles have received new colour options which are mentioned in detail in the launch story linked above. The prices of the bikes vary as per colour option with the Speed Twin 900 starting from Rs 8.35 lakh and the Scrambler 900’s cheapest trim is pegged at Rs 9.45 lakh.
Hero MotoCorp seems to be preparing to launch the updated iteration of the Xpulse 200T in India. The motorcycle was launched with the Xpulse 200 ADV in 2019 but it was discontinued in 2020 due to poor sales. Now, the company has bestowed the bike with a couple of cosmetic changes and it’s likely to get the new 199cc, four-valve engine that’s featured on the new Xpulse 200 4V.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 spotted
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 was spotted testing again in southern India. This time two test mules were seen undergoing test runs and appeared closer to the production stage. The upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will borrow the 650cc twin-cylinder motor from the existing Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. It’s likely to be tuned the same and boast similar output figures as the current 650 twins – 47bhp and 52Nm.
