BMW Motorrad launched the latest S 1000 XR in India at Rs. 22.50 lakh which makes it Rs. 30,000 more expensive than the previous iteration. Owing to its touring purpose, the S 1000 XR, despite looking sporty, boasts a tall stance and offers an upright yet commanding riding posture. It is powered by a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine that makes 170bhp and 114Nm. Although it borrows the motor from the S 1000 RR, it is detuned and makes less power.

The Red Sheen edition features a dual-tone red and chrome finish on the fuel tank and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The latter offers the convenience of tubeless tyres over spoke wheels. Besides the new paint scheme and alloy wheels, the 42 Bobber remains unchanged.
