The last week’s highlight was the launch of the 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 which received a bunch of updates and a marginal price hike. Moreover, Triumph and Ducati also introduced their offerings in the premium space. In case you couldn’t keep a track of these developments, here’s a quick round-up.
2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 launch
The 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 2 lakh which is around Rs. 7,000 more than before. As a part of 2024 updates, it has received a set of new colours and features such as LED headlamp, adjustable levers, a gear position indicator, and a USB type-C charging port. The availability of these features varies depending on the variant.
Triumph launched the Daytona 660 in India and it is priced at Rs. 9.72 lakh. The new Daytona is based on the same platform as the Triumph Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660. While it is powered by the same 660cc, inline-triple cylinder engine as its naked and tourer siblings, the power output and torque output are higher at 95bhp and 69Nm. It rides on 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD fork and a Showa monoshock while the braking hardware includes twin 310mm front discs and a 220mm disc at the rear.
Ducati Multistrada V4 RS launch
The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS was launched in India at Rs 38.40 lakh. It is the sportiest and most expensive iteration of the motorcycle. A 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine powers the bike which makes 180bhp and 118Nm. Plus, it’s lighter than every other variant of the bike with Marchesini forged aluminium rims and a titanium subframe. Even the hardware package is top-notch with electronically adjustable Ohlins suspension and Brembo Stylema brake calipers.
Yamaha Tenere 700 India launch expected
Yamaha India is considering launching one of its most awaited and revered motorcycles, the Tenere 700. The initial work on this project has just commenced. The top management in Yamaha India is aware about the popularity and aspiration surrounding the Tenere 700 in India, however, pricing it right seems to be challenging since it will be imported directly from Japan. We should hear an announcement about the Tenere 700 sometime next year.
The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure Enduro has been spotted testing once again as we inch closer to its official launch. With its Enduro build, the 390 Adventure gets notably slimmer and less cladding while the wheel sizes stand at 21 and 17 inches for the front and rear, respectively. Plus, there a small headlamp, a large beak-style front fender, a raised handlebar, and a sharp and long tail with bench-type seat. KTM could debut its updated 390 Adventure range in the next few months and the Enduro trim might be priced around Rs. 3.8 lakh.
