The last week was a bit bleak in terms of new two-wheeler launches. However, we still covered a lot of interesting updates about the upcoming products, some of the notable ones being the next-generation KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield’s future 450cc models. To give you a quick recap, here’s a round-up of five such important bike updates from last week.
TVS Motor Company launched new colours for the Ntorq 125 standard and Race XP. While the former is available in new shades of Turquoise, Harlequin Blue, and Nardo Grey, the latter comes in a new matte black trim. The colours of the base Ntorq look fresh thanks to the updated decals on the front apron and under-seat panels. The prices of the base variant start from Rs. 86,871 and the Race XP variant is pegged at Rs. 97,501.
Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP launch
Ducati listed the Hypermotard 950 SP on its India website. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 19.05 lakh and it is the second model in the Hypermotard 950 line-up after the RVE. Compared to the standard model, the Ducati Hypermotard SP features a special paint scheme, carbon fibre parts, and higher-spec hardware such as fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and Marchesini forged alloy wheels.
As we are waiting for the official launch of the next-generation KTM 390 Adventure to take place, a new spy shot of the bike surfaced on the internet last week. It clearly revealed the front fascia of the motorcycle which certainly looks bigger and more imposing than the existing model. It boasts a fairly tall windscreen with the registration plate suspended onto it. The headlamp houses a pair of vertically stacked LEDs and the overall front section closely resembles the bigger KTM adventure bikes, especially the new 1390 Adventure.
Royal Enfield is likely to be experimenting a lot with its new 450cc platform. An online report suggests that the Chennai-based brand could be working on a Himalayan 450-based supermoto and sportbike. While the former should be a tweaked version of the Himalayan, the latter might be a café-racer iteration of the new Guerrilla 450. We should get more details about these bikes in the coming days.
Bajaj Auto is prepping to launch two new 400cc Triumph motorcycles before the festive season, as per an online report. One of these bikes will certainly be the Thruxton 400 which has been spied on a couple of occasions in the past. Details of the second model are not known yet. The Thruxton 400 will essentially be a café-racer version of the existing Speed 400 with some visual changes. To accommodate the production of upcoming models, Bajaj will also increase the production capacity of Triumph motorcycles from 5,000 units to 10,000 units.
