The last week witnessed much more interesting developments than just new launches. From Honda two-wheelers getting more expensive to TVS removing one of its scooters from the website, there were various noteworthy reports we covered. Here, we take a quick look at the top five such reports you shouldn’t miss from the last week.
Bajaj launched the BS6-compliant iteration of the smallest member of the Pulsar family. The Pulsar 125 now gets fuel-injection and the power figures stand at 11.6bhp and 11Nm which is slightly different from the BS4 model. The changes in the engine attract a premium of up to Rs 7,500 over the previous version. Thus, the Pulsar 125 drum and disc brake variants now cost Rs 67,997 and Rs 74,118, respectively.
TVS Jupiter Grande removed from website
TVS has taken off the Grande edition of the Jupiter from its official website. It was the top-end variant of the scooter with fancy cosmetic add-ons and a few extra features over other trims. This comes in immediately after TVS launching the BS6 models of other variants including standard, ZX and Classic. Now, it remains to be seen whether the Hosur-based bike maker brings back the Jupiter Grande in BS6 form post the lockdown or discontinues the model permanently.
Honda SP 125, Activa 6G and Activa 125 prices hiked
Honda has increased the prices of three of its two-wheelers including the SP 125 motorcycle, the Activa 6G and Activa 125 scooters. Notably, the price hike for all these models is minimal amounting to just Rs 552. Following the hike, the SP 125 costs Rs 73,452 (drum) and Rs 77,652 (disc). On the other hand, the Activa 6G now costs Rs 64,464 (STD) and Rs 65,964 (DLX) while the Activa 125 starts at Rs 68,042 (drum) and goes up to Rs 75,042 (Alloy/Disc).
Yamaha Fascino 125 prices hiked
The Yamaha Fascino 125 scooter also witnessed a price hike of Rs 800 in the last week. Available in four variants, the Fascino is now priced between Rs 67,230 (Standard/Drum) to Rs 70,730 (Deluxe/Disc). Yamaha had launched the Fascino 125 in December 2019 which marked the brand’s entry into the 125cc scooter segment. It is a successor to its 110cc version with a larger motor, fancier styling and more features.
2020 Triumph Street Triple RS launching on 22 April
In the premium motorcycle segment, a pleasant news came from Triumph which is going to launch its manic street fighter, the 2020 Street Triple RS, on 22 April in India. The company had earlier planned to launch the bike on 25 March but postponed it due to the ongoing lockdown. The new model of the Street Triple RS has been updated in terms of styling which is more aggressive now. The TFT display also gets a few added functionalities. Furthermore, the 765cc, in-line triple motor has been tuned to deliver stronger mid-range performance and more torque.
