The last week was quite bleak for the Indian two-wheeler market as it didn’t witness any major new launches. However, there were a few updates about the upcoming products that were worth paying heed to. In that case, here’s a quick round-up of the top five such bike updates from the last week.
Bajaj-Triumph bike launch date
Triumph will unveil its most affordable motorcycles – a 400cc roadster and a 400cc scrambler at the end of June in London. These bikes are being developed in association with Bajaj and the above revelation was made by its CEO during one of his interviews. Bajaj recently took over Triumph’s India operations, including showrooms and corporate activities. Following their global debut, the Bajaj-Triumph bikes are likely to come to Indian shores in September this year.
KTM bikes updated with OBD2
KTM India updated all of its models in accordance with phase 2 of BS6 emission norms. Now, all the bikes belonging to its RC, Duke and Adventure series are equipped with OBD2 (onboard diagnostics) system. What’s more, KTM surprised its fans by launching the more affordable X variant of the 390 Adventure with a price tag of Rs 2.80 lakh.
The Harley-Davidson X500 neo-retro roadster made its global debut in China last week. It is essentially based on the Benelli Leoncino 500 which is a result of Harley’s association with QJ Motor, which owns multiple manufacturers, including Benelli. So, the X500 gets the same design, hardware, and engine as the Leoncino 500. It is powered by a 500cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder motor that dishes out 47bhp and 46Nm.
Bangalore-based performance electric motorcycle brand, Ultraviolette announced the commencement of the deliveries of its top-spec F77 Limited Edition. This performance motorcycle will be made in limited numbers and all 77 units of this variant have already been sold out. The company commenced the bookings for this variant in November 2022. As for the other models, including the F77 Original and Recon, bookings for these electric bikes continue to be accepted.
Hero MotoCorp has announced that its Vida electric scooters will be sold online via Flipkart. Notably, this electric scooter range is available in three cities in India – Bangalore, Jaipur, and Delhi – while Hero MotoCorp is aggressively expanding its availability in more markets. As reported earlier, they will soon launch the Vida electric scooter range in Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, and Ahmedabad.
