The last week witnessed a bunch of new developments in the Indian two-wheeler industry, especially in terms of new launches. And the brand which went the most aggressive with revising its product portfolio was BMW Motorrad which launched not one, or two, but three new motorcycles. In case you couldn’t stay up to date with these stories, here’s a round-up.
BMW Motorrad launched its smallest supersport offering in India, the G 310 RR. The prices of the bike start at Rs 2.85 lakh which varies depending on the colour option. The motorcycle is based on the TVS Apache RR 310 in terms of styling, features and mechanicals, but there are a few differences. Bookings for the G310 RR are open on BMW Motorrad’s official website and through dealerships.
2022 BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS launch
BMW also launched the 2022 version of the G 310 R and the G 310 GS in India. Both bikes are now Rs 5,000 more expensive than their previous iterations. The only update you get for that premium is a new set of three colour options for each, while the design, mechanicals, and features remain unchanged. The new G 310 R costs Rs 2.70 lakh while the G 310 GS is pegged at Rs 3.10 lakh.
Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally kit launch
Hero MotoCorp has announced the Rally Kit for the Xpulse 200 4V in the Indian market. This optional kit brings additional components to the off-road-biased motorcycle that are divided into three different categories - Tyre, Suspension, and Ergonomics. It has been priced at Rs 46,000 and the company says that this kit is fully road-legal.
2022 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 spied
Royal Enfield was caught testing the next-generation model of the iconic Bullet 350 in India. As we already know, it’s based on RE’s new J platform that has already been utilised for the Classic 350 and Meteor 350. It brings along a new chassis, engine and cycle parts while the design of the bike remains majorly unchanged. Not to mention, all these updates will demand a considerable premium over the pricing of the existing model.
Bajaj bumped up the price of its only electric scooter, the Chetak, in India. The e-scooter is now priced at Rs 1.54 lakh which makes it a whopping Rs 12,749 more expensive than its previous price tag of Rs 1.41 lakh. Compared to the rest of the price increase in its line-up of motorcycles, Bajaj has hiked Chetak’s price quite substantially by 9 per cent.
