The last week was an eventful phase for the Indian two-wheeler industry. While we witnessed just one new bike launch from Ducati, there were a couple of other interesting updates worth paying attention to. Moreover, our review section was updated with a couple of new ride reports which most of you were waiting for. In case you aren’t aware of these stories already, here’s a quick round-up.
Ducati brought its newest and most hardcore adventure bike, the DesertX to India with a price tag of Rs 17.91 lakh. It boasts radical styling, an off-road-centric 21-18-inch spoke wheel combination along with a long—travel suspension setup. Ducati has also loaded with a long list of electronic aids along with some practical features like a large 21-litre fuel tank, bash plate, and tubeless tyres.
Hero-Harley cruiser showcased in India
A bunch of Indian dealers were fortunate enough to see two Hero-Harley co-developed motorcycles last week. One of these was a cruiser visually resembling the Harley-Davidson 338R that we have seen in the past. The other motorcycle was a naked streetfighter with aggressive and sporty styling. It was a potential rival to the KTM 390 Duke. The main purpose of this showcase was to gauge the viewer’s reaction before taking a decision about their India launch.
TVS Apache RR 310 enters Asphalt 8
TVS Motor Company has partnered with Gameloft to introduce the digital form of the Apache RR 310 in the latter’s highly popular motor racing game, Asphalt 8: Airborne. Notably, TVS is the first Indian two-wheeler brand to bring a virtual racing experience of its motorcycle to Gameloft’s Asphalt 8. With this collaboration, the company expects increased awareness about the Apache brand among the youth globally.
We recently got to ride Bajaj’s newest member of its iconic Pulsar family, the P150. The motorcycle is the successor to the long-running Pulsar 150 which had started to feel pretty long in the tooth. The new Pulsar P150 is based on the new-age Pulsar platform which comprises a fresh design, new chassis, and a heavily revised version of its 150cc engine. So, is the bike worth considering?
