The last week was full of new launches and spy shots of several interesting products. From a 160cc bike being updated with three riding modes to India’s most expensive scooter getting a launch date, there was a lot to read up. Continuing with our Sunday ritual, here’s our lowdown on the top five bike stories from the last week.
2021 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V launched
TVS updated its premium commuter, the Apache RTR 160 4V, with a bunch of surprising bits. The motorcycle now gets three riding modes, and a new headlamp setup. The special edition of the bike gets a few more goodies like adjustable clutch and brake levers and TVS’ SmartXonnect Bluetooth system. The new prices of the Apache RTR 160 4V start from Rs 1.15 lakh and go up to Rs 1.21 lakh.
Hero launched the new four-valve version of its adventure touring motorcycle, the Xpulse 200. The additional valves have helped in marginally increasing its power and torque which now stand at 18.8bhp and 17.35Nm, respectively. Hero has refreshed its colour palette and added new paint schemes and graphics to the mix. The adventure bike is now priced at Rs 1.28 lakh.
TVS introduced the bigger 125cc version of its Jupiter scooter. Interestingly, it doesn’t share any components from either the Jupiter 110 or the Ntorq 125. The design, chassis, and hardware are all new. It also pretty impressive on the convenience front with a front fuel filler cap and a 33-litre under seat storage space. Powering the new Jupiter is a 124.8cc, two-valve engine that makes 8.2bhp and 10.5Nm.
BMW Motorrad is all set to launch its maxi-scooter, the C 400 GT, on 12 October in India. This will be the biggest scooter in India with a 350cc, liquid-cooled engine that’s good for 33.5bhp and 35Nm. It’s also big and spacious enough to be ridden over long distances. There are electronic aids too like traction control, and riding mode. The BMW C 400 GT is likely to be priced over Rs 5 lakh.
Classic Legends is working on resurrecting the iconic Yezdi brand in India. And one of the first offerings to be sold under this banner will be an adventure tourer that was recently spotted undergoing roads tests. It boasts a design that looks inspired by the Royal Enfield Himalayan. It might share its engine with the Jawa Perak which is powered by a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. More details will arrive as we get closer to its official unveiling.
