The last week was quite eventful for the Indian two-wheeler industry. Alongside two new product launches, we also reported about a couple of interesting upcoming offerings. And in case you were too busy to track all of the bike-related updates, here’s a quick round-up.
Honda Activa 6G Smart Key launch
Honda gave the Activa 6G its long-due update by introducing a bunch of modern features. The main highlight is the inclusion of a Smart Key which enables a couple of keyless operations. It has also been bestowed with an anti-theft feature and a mechanism to locate the scooter from a distance. The prices of the Activa 6G Smart Key start from Rs 80,537.
Honda Activa electric launch timeline
Another interesting update about the Honda Activa is that its electric version will mostly be launched early next year, as per the statement by one of the top honchos of the brand. It’s being developed in India and Japan while the manufacturing will take place only in India for cost-effectiveness. Interestingly, Honda is also working on hybrid assembly lines which can churn out ICE as well as electric two-wheelers.
Jawa 42, Yezdi Roadster new colours
JawaYezdi Motorcycles rolled out new colours for the Jawa 42 and Yezdi Roadster neo-retro offerings. While the Jawa 42 now gets a new shade of Metallic Cosmic Carbon, the Yezdi Roadster is available in the Crimson Dual Tone colour that features a gloss finish. This paint theme is similar to the one seen on the Jawa 42 Bobber.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 new details
One of Royal Enfield’s most anticipated upcoming offerings is the Himalayan 450 and we learnt something new about the bike last week. Going by the recently-surfaced spy shots, the motorcycle will be equipped with a single and large round LCD display and the front suspension setup will comprise of non-adjustable Showa upside-down forks. The motorcycle is expected to debut in the coming months.
Hero Maestro Xoom 110 launch date
Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its newest scooter, the Maestro Xoom 110, on 30 January, 2023 in India. While the Xoom is likely to incorporate the same engine as the existing Maestro Edge 110, there might be a lot of differences to make it sportier. As we have deciphered from the teaser, the design is clearly different and more aggressive, similar to the likes of the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Honda Grazia 125.
