The last week was all about new two-wheeler launches which made every single day interesting and action-packed. We saw the entry of a new product in almost every segment including scooter, supersport, cruiser and the 180-200cc genre. In case you couldn’t keep a tab on all of it, here’s a round-up of the top five two-wheeler updates from the last week.
Honda launched the Hornet 2.0 in India which is the successor to the CB Hornet 160R. The motorcycle boasts of a beefier styling with more features and a larger and more powerful 184cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It belts out 17.03bhp and 16.1Nm. One of the most interesting things is the inclusion of upside down forks at the front which is an uncommon feature in this segment. Honda has priced the Hornet 2.0 at Rs 1.27 lakh which makes it more affordable than its rivals.
TVS Jupiter ZX disc variant launched
TVS launched a new variant of its highly popular scooter, the Jupiter BS6, in India. This is the top-spec trim and gets a front disc brake, a silent starter and a multi-function key fob, features which were not available in the scooter until now. TVS has introduced it in three colour options - Matte Starlight Blue, Starlight Blue and Royal Wine. Priced at Rs 69,052, the Jupiter ZX disc sits close to the fancy Classic edition of the scooter.
Ducati rode in its first BS6-compliant offering in India – the Panigale V2 which is the successor to the Panigale 959. The Italian bike maker has priced it at Rs 16.99 lakh which makes it staggeringly more expensive than its predecessor which was pegged at Rs 14.74 lakh. It boasts of a styling identical to its larger sibling, the Panigale V4, which is complemented by a host of electronic aids. Powering the bike is a 955cc, twin-cylinder motor which produces 152.8bhp and 104Nm.
Kawasaki Vulcan S BS6 launched
Kawasaki introduced the BS6 model of its modern cruiser, the Vulcan S, in India. The motorcycle continues to be powered by a 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which emits cleaner gases now. While it remains unchanged in terms of styling, there’s a new Metallic Flat Raw Graystone colour option on offer with red accents. Rest of the aspects of the bike have remained unaltered. Kawasaki has priced the Vulcan S BS6 at Rs 5.79 lakh making it Rs 30,000 dearer than its BS4 counterpart.
Royal Enfield Meteor 350 brochure leaked
Brochure of Royal Enfield’s upcoming offering, the Meteor 350, has been leaked online ahead of its official launch. It reveals that the motorcycle will be available in three variants which go by the name Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. All these variants differ in terms of paint scheme, chrome treatment and accessories. The Meteor 350 will essentially replace the Thunderbird 350X and will be based on the brand’s all-new J platform. It is likely to be priced around Rs 1.70 lakh.
