While the last was slightly bleak in terms of new two-wheeler launches, the Indian market still witnessed some noteworthy developments that might excite the enthusiasts. And following our Sunday ritual, here’s a roundup of the five most important bike updates of the week.
Kawasaki India launched the most expensive 400cc bike in India, the Ninja ZX-4RR. It is powered by a 399cc inline four-cylinder motor that makes 80bhp at 14,500rpm and 39Nm at 13,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox and gets a quick shifter too. That’s not it. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR also gets a TFT screen, ride modes, traction control, power modes, dual-channel ABS, and smartphone connectivity too.
Hero MotoCorp launched the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 in India with a price tag of Rs. 82,911. The latest edition comes draped in new two-tone paint schemes of Matte Grey, Gloss Black and Gloss Red. Apart from that, this extremely popular Hero commuter features an LED headlight and revised graphics as well. Plus, it gets a fully digital instrument cluster.
Bengaluru-based Bounce Infinity introduced the new E1X electric scooter at a starting price of Rs. 55,000. The Infinity E1X is available in two variants with the top speed of the lower model capped at 55kmph while the other model can hit 65kmph. It gets a swappable battery pack that clings onto an underbone frame and is suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. It undercuts competition like the Ola S1X by approximately Rs 20,000.
The waiting period for Aprilia’s latest and profoundly popular sportbike, the RS 457 has stretched to two months. Aprilia India is trying to match demand by running three shifts at its production line and producing close to 50 units of RS 457 in a day. The company hopes to reduce waiting times for the RS 457 over the next couple of months. The bike has been selling in good numbers in South and West India.
