The last week was quite eventful for the Indian two-wheeler market. Besides two new launches, we saw a mid-size adventure motorcycle receive a massive price cut. Plus, Kawasaki is prepping to bring something interesting to the Indian market. In case you aren’t aware of these updates, here’s a quick round-up.
TVS launched the Black editions of the Apache RTR 160 and the Apache RTR 160 4V. Both bikes, as the name suggests, maintain an all-black visual theme for their bodywork and cycle parts. Mechanically, they remain the same as their respective standard counterparts. While the RTR 160 Black costs Rs. 1.20 lakh, the 4V Black version demands Rs. 1.25 lakh.
TVS launched the ST variants of the iQube, besides launching the most affordable variant of the electric scooter. The former is the flagship iteration of the iQube which costs Rs. 1.83 lakh and 1.55 lakh for the 5.5kWh and 3.4kWh battery variants, respectively. Meanwhile, the cheapest trim of the scooter is pegged at Rs. 95,000 and runs on a 2.2kWh battery. Both scooters differ in terms of features, top speed, and aesthetics.
BMW launched the new M 1000 XR in India at Rs 45 lakh. India gets the M Competiton variant which gets a plethora of carbon fibre parts including the wheels, side panels, front wheel cover, and a lot more. It is powered by a 999cc, inline-four engine that makes 201bhp and BMW claims it can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 278kmph.
Moto Morini X-Cape 650 price cut
Adishwar Auto Ride India has announced a massive price cut on the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 range. The standard trim is now priced at Rs 5.99 lakh, which is almost Rs 1.3 lakh cheaper than the 2023 model. The off-road variant – the X-Cape 650X is now pegged at Rs 6.49 lakh – over a lakh cheaper than before. The company claims that these price cuts are a result of a new production strategy for 2024.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR India launch
Kawasaki is all set to launch the ZX-4RR in India which is the higher-spec version of the already existing ZX-4R. It gets a bi-directional quick shifter as standard, fully adjustable Showa suspension, and KRT Racing livery. Powering the bike is the same engine as the ZX4R which is a 399cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four unit that makes 76bhp at 14,000rpm and 37.6Nm at 12,000rpm. It will be brought to India in limited numbers only.
