While most of the bike makers continued their price hike spree last week, there were a few pleasant surprises as well. For instance, the KTM 250 Adventure price was reduced drastically and BMW teased a maxi-scooter for India. More such positive developments took place in the last week and here’s a lowdown on the top five of them.
After the Yamaha FZ25 and the Bajaj Dominar 250, the KTM 250 Adventure received a substantial price drop in India. The Austrian ADV is Rs 25,000 cheaper than before and costs Rs 2.30 lakh now. For those who are tempted to buy it, you better hurry as this is a limited period offer valid only till 31 August, 2021.
Ola electric scooter bookings open
After various spy shots and announcements, Ola Electric has finally opened the bookings for its product at just Rs 500. Surprisingly, the company CEO also announced that it received 1 lakh reservations within the first 24 hours itself. The Ola electric scooter will be available in three different versions at least, that are likely to go by names Series S, S1, and S1 Pro.
Another set of spy images of the 2022 KTM RC 390 have emerged on the internet. Although these images don’t reveal any new details about the bike, the test mule looked ready for production hinting that the launch might be around the corner. Select KTM dealers in India have also started accepting unofficial bookings for the bike at a maximum token amount of Rs 10,000.
New TVS Apache RR 200 revealed
TVS has revealed the new Apache RR 200 – a fully-faired, track-spec motorcycle that will be used in the TVS One Make Championship racing program. It gets a host of race-focused components like adjustable inverted forks up front, a bulbous fairing for better aerodynamics, race livery, and performance TVS Eurogrip tyres.
BMW teases maxi-scooter for India
As per a new teaser by BMW Motorrad, it is all set to introduce a scooter in India for the first time. Called the C400 GT, this is a generously sized maxi-scooter with a distinctive design. It is powered by a 350cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that makes around 33bhp and 35Nm. It can touch a top speed of around 139kmph and gets a host of modern features. Interestingly, according to our sources, nearly 50 units of the C400 GT have already been booked in India.
